Why Is Hating Vegans Trendy?

 Why Is Hating Vegans Trendy?

Change is the one thing that can provoke fear in people. Propaganda fills the internet and cities to force people into thinking a certain way or believing certain things. While some disregard the biased information, many believe it to be true and use it to form their opinions. Vegan hate has always been common simply because it goes against societal norms. However, as the vegan movement grows, so does vegan hate. Vegan hate has become more widespread because of the media. It has become normal and "brave" to respond to vegans by eating meat in front of them that will somehow "trigger" vegans. It does quite the opposite. Vegans are surrounded by omnivores every day, so seeing someone eat meat does not trigger anyone it just shows that the person is ignorant and does not have any valid points that they can use to debate with.
Recently, "ThatVeganTeacher" has rightfully so gained the views of many outraged people. She negatively spoke about other people including vegans, non-vegans, and LGBTQ+ communities. Eventually, she was banned from the app, TikTok, after making sexual jokes to a minor. This gave the vegan community a huge setback. When the word "vegan" is mentioned, people think of the negative connotation associated with "ThatVeganTeacher."
During and after the ban of "ThatVeganTeacher," an overwhelming amount of people have posted their support for the non-vegan community. "ThatVeganTeacher" caused so much harm to the vegan community, that now, vegan activists have to work that much harder to show the truth surrounding veganism, and vegans have to seem perfect so that they are not grouped in with the bad apples. To top it off, many influencers and celebrities have gone "vegan" to lose weight, and when it did not work, they shared negative experiences. This deters people from veganism and makes them think and share negative views.
At this point, hating vegans is a trend, and while it is unfortunate, it makes us work even harder and stronger.

On an end note: "Spread hummus not hate."
